Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Course

What to expect.

This internationally renowned course will prepare you across the reformer, cadillac, wunda chair, barrels and mat to become an effective Pilates instructor in exercise prescription for a wide range of abilities.

With a rehab stream for those who have a health background, and a studio stream for those coming from a general background, we have options for all.

It will take approximately 7 months to complete the course, with 1 online module and 6 two-day modules, and another 6 months to prepare for the exam.

A note on language: course content in English with Dutch translation possible. Practical exam components possible in Dutch.

What experience do I need to have before starting the Comprehensive Course?
We require at least 30 hours of Pilates practice, preferably at a Studio. Ideally you have done some Mat as well as Equipment training.

I cannot attend one / multiple modules of the series but I would love to register. What do I do?
We are usually running several series simultaneously (for instance in Leuven and Utrecht) so you can always attend that module(s) elsewhere. However, if you already know before registering that you will miss multiple modules, do get in touch with us beforehand so we can find the best solution for you.

I would love to do this course as I am very fond of Pilates.
However, I am not a physiotherapist and I don’t have a background in movement at all.

You are very welcome to join and you don’t need to worry about this at all. We have ‘career changing students’ in every course who do a great job, and we are happy to provide support regarding anatomy and movement concepts if need be. Through our course you can become an amazing Pilates teacher in the Studio stream, while those with a movement or health background will opt for the Rehab stream.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the time investment for this course?
On a weekly basis, expect to set aside 1-2 hours for observing Pilates classes as well as 2-3 hours to practice (at home and/or at a Pilates Studio) from the start of your Comprehensive Course. You also need to carve out time to look at and digest your Polestar Principles lectures, prepare for the Modules and practise on creating exercise programmes for a variety of people.

Approximately from Module 2 onwards, you will be ready to start practising your teaching skills - depending on your experience in teaching prior to the course (you need to have none!). Meaning that you need to allocate more time to the course from M2 onwards to include the teaching aspect.

I wish to register for the Comprehensive Course. When am I expected to pay?
We have different payment options available. You can choose to
- pay 100% in one go after registering.
- pay in 2 instalments: 50% after registering and 50% one month before the start of the course.
- pay in 4 instalments with a small admin fee of €30 added per instalment: 25% before Gateway, 25% before Module 1 (M1), 25% before M2, and the final 25% before M3.
You can indicate your preferred option in the application form. After applying, we will be in touch with you regarding your (first) payment.
